Just Kidding
Hey there…
I'm James; a tinker, writer, actor, teacher, big idea Ad guy. When your initials are synonymous with "just kidding" you tend to value the power of humor and creativity. I’ve curated a few small samples here for you. Take a look. Know me better. Let’s talk.
I make stuff
If it is cool enough to collect, then it should be cool enough to try and make. I've been collecting belt buckles since I was a boy so I decided to start making my own. My joy of belt buckle production has now inspired me to make custom leather belts and more. Every creative needs a way to keep those wheels turning and mine is working with my hands. Check out my work HERE.
I create hype
Yes it’s true. While my heart holds many passions, my craft and wit are put to work on strengthening brands. Over a decade in the business, my experience has afforded me the pleasure of engaging C-suite clients, the patience to grow young talent, and the composure to handle round after round… after round of testing.
I write
My storytelling has its strongest roots in screenwriting. I've been adapting stories, writing screenplays and making films since childhood.
I say words
Oh and somehow I’ve become the king of scratch tracks. I no longer do it professionally but the occasional client will send my occasional recording out as an on air spot so I've got that going for me... which is nice.
I take pictures
I’ve been incredibly lucky in my life, especially as an American, to work and travel as freely and as often as I have. I’ve documented tries on almost every continent with my amateur photography skills.
I've worked in the advertising space as for over a decade. Started as a Copywriter, trained as an Art Director, developed my leadership chops as a teacher, project manager, and improviser, but I'd say I'm a Summer Camp Director at heart. There is joy to be had in travel, new experiences, and problem solving. My creative process comes from my steady stream of self contradiction. I was born in the city but grew up loving the great outdoors, a theater major who spent a year in Patagonia, a nomad who values a nest, oh and a marathon runner who hates running! Laughter is the best medicine and I try to prescribe a little bit every single day. ~ JK
